Clean rustic cabins, friendly owner and staff, great outdoor experience with a comfortable bed. We had a great time and look forward to going back soon! Michele
Super friendly staff, very edible food, and cold beer make this a great place to stop. Toss up between eating here or meadowlark lodge food wise, but the service is definitely slightly better here.
August 5-9, 2025. Two couples stayed in the Chalet for 4 nights for a 3/12 day ATV trip. Sara and Angela were extremely accommodating and fun to interact with. They are a bit short handed so they worked their butts off and still maintained great personalities. The service in the restaurant was a bit slow but the food was good but we just rolled with it and enjoyed the atmosphere, some local personalities and visits with other diners. The food was good. The Chalet was great for the four of us. It needs a little work but I'd come back here in a heartbeat! Sara and her family bought the resort in early 2023 and are working hard to bring it back. Ignore posts prior to spring of 2023. The mountains are beautiful and the trails were pretty good, typical for the Bighorns.
Manager/owner was surprisingly younger then i would imagine the owner to be. I haven't been to deer heaven in quit some time over 20years.i wanted to see how the lodge was or had changed in time. Like frozen in time inside and out. It was like a wlak back in time. I am glad to see the younger generation keeping a historical memory making lodge alive an kicking. New Ownership. Great atmosphere. Had dinner. Amazing food. Homemade cheese curds and onion rings were incredible. Will return.
We were motorcycling through the beautiful Bighorn Mountains and wanted a place for dinner. We called Deer Haven to see if they were open, they were and the guy on the phone says, "We close the restaurant at 8:00 PM, but if you are coming late, call and we will keep the kitchen open". Best customer service comment to me of the year! It was a beautiful setting with good food (Not fancy) provided by the owners of the resort. A nice friendly place. My best food experience of a week's ride.
The restaurant is a great place to dine in for lunch or dinner. Great people that are always smiling and are happy to help.
Had some great breakfast and hospitality for two travelers passing through! Showers were nice and warm too!
